I grew up in the 1950's on a small rural farm outside of
Woodburn, Oregon. Our small farm raised crops such as strawberries,
cucumbers, cauliflower, and broccoli. I harvested green beans,
walnuts, filberts and all kinds of berries. We always had cows,
pigs, chickens, sheep, horses, dogs, and cats to take care of as
well. All of these childhood experiences taught me the value of hard work. My mother's large
garden also gave my six sisters and I lots of opportunities to learn
all about cooking and canning with fresh ingredients. Our old
farmhouse used to rock and roll with all the activities of so many
women.
I have
always loved cooking and baking, pretty dishes, and
entertaining, so it was a natural progression to opening a place
of my own to host private parties. I hope you enjoy the new menu
named after each of my wonderful sisters, my aunt and uncle and
of course, my dear mother, Marie.
I have a wonderful husband and three adult children.
I
appreciate your business and hope you will consider Cheryl's
Cup of Tea
for your private party or gathering.
